Computer will not start. What could this be??

Question

I dont know what they did to this computer but it doesnt start up. The power comes on but it doesnt load. What to do?

It doesnt beep and nothing shows up on the monitor. All the lights come on and it sounds like it wants to load but it just DOESNT.....

i think ur pc migth be missing a file and if it is you migth have to call for tech support and maybe do a data recovery , see my computer was doing the same thing just some days ago it would turn on but it wouldn't load and i called the Sony tech support cus i have a sony, vaio computer and they told me that i had to do a data recovery this leaves your computer just like new just how it came when u bougth it -- but it erases all of your data so you migth want to back up all you data saved all because it will get erased but that really helps your computer because i did that and now its working just like new ,but just call for tech support for the company from where the computer came from like sony or mac or IBM or pavilion or any other and tell them that ur computer doesn't want to load and they will help u .

Bad RAM is a possibility as well. Given the small amount of information you provided, there is no telling for sure. We need to know what you were doing with it BEFORE this happened, what files, if any, were modified, if you had an electrical storm recently or not, etc.

Now that I think about it though, I think bad RAM will cause the computer to shut off as soon as it finds out it's bad -- not stay on.

Maybe the monitor is bad? Did you look into that? =P

I need a lot more info. etc. What have you got on the screen,
there are a million and 0ne resons why a comp. won't start.
