My old PC has a SIS L4S5MG motherboard based on SIS 650 chipset. Manual says that it has a FSB of 266 MHz. Will it support a RAM of 533MHz? I mean to say will that RAM work? It does not matter if the ram works on 266 MHz. This is because I'm not getting 266 MHz RAM in the market.

No. The 2000 MHz is your reminiscence bus velocity. it incredibly is the cost at which the equipment accesses your RAM. in case you install RAM that would run swifter than that, you will have not have been given any issues. in case you install RAM that runs slower than that, the equipment will attempt to get right of entry to it at a greater physically powerful velocity than the RAM can cope with. which will leave you with a working laptop or pc that isn't boot, and maximum probable some broken RAM.

Probably. The DDR for a 533 Mhz FSB is most likely a PC3200, while for the 266Mhz FSB it is probably PC2100. The PC3200 should work for PC2100, but not the other way around.

Never try this !!!
Hi freq RAM is designed for higher FSB motherboard.
Running it on Low FSB motherboard can damage ur Hardware (MB/RAM).
