Desktops - February 2007

Havent looked in the store yet...But how will I know if a computer desktop package will be able to burn CD/DVD's?

Ok guys as you can see I'm not really a computer tech..=/ So yeah I' trying to play a game Counter Strike and it wont start up it loads then the CS window goes away. So I check to see what was going on and it said my computer needs more Mhz( aound 1200) and more Mb. So I want to know where I can get that without having to go purchase another computer..or if anyone can help me with the problem of why CS doesnt load up, I would greatly appreciate it even more! =D thank you.

Also it has a problem restarting. If I let it set for a while though it starts right up. Seems to me like a heat related problem.

I am to the point that I don't know whether to reformat or buy a new computer. My monitor has streaks on screen and I know I had all this spyware in it. Any sites that are free to view. Thanks a lot!!!

I had a bunch of virusis on my pc.My tech cleaned up my pc, told me that he would save all my files. Then he couldn't get the sound back so he did a disctructive recovery. i lost everything. Seems like I've heard it is possible to recover these files from the hard drive after this. Is it possible? Thanks, anna

I replaced the 180 watt with a 300 watt ATX some time ago. But it died. When I push the on/off button, there is a click but nothing, nada. Power cord is ok cuz I used it on the video to check. No fuse on the supply. Also, I have the impression that hp power supplies have a little power on the 3v(?) even when turned off to save the little battery. I have no power on the battery line.

I'd like to confirm the last point before splurging for another power supply.

heres the whole story,i'm going to upgrade my CPU,and all i want is to play games and surf the internet on it,i also need a CD Burner and a DVD ROM to play DVDs on my Computer,but i also need a original OS,(mine's currently a fake one),my comp has videos i want to burn,the total cost will be around 1,500,but with the original os,it will cost around 200 more,

so i was wondering whether i should get the OS if i'm going to play games and surf the internet only?

it is not even reading any disk that iam putting in there

On an APEVIA X-Plorer ATX computer case, is there ventilation for the hard drives? The front is ventilated, and there are mounts for a fan on the inside of the front. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell Computer... Windows keeps prompting me to download and install the Video - Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller. It downloads fine, but when I try to install, it says "Updates were unable to be successfully installed. The following updates were not installed: Dell Inc. - Video - Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller" ... I push close and then it prompts me to install again. I really need it to be installed!!! On my computer, everything is huge. What do I do??
