Hi guys,
I bought this tower:

bought a 400 watt 12v psu as it says it needs. installed my pentium 4 motherboard and there was smoke and a now have a dead motherboard. It a good job the processor wasnt on there otherwise i would have been really upset.

Im going to buy a new motherboard but can anybody think of what went wrong the first time?

My computer is of 3.00 Ghz & 228 MB of RAM & 80 GB of memory.& the present memory usage is just 24 GB.i have norton 2006 istalled which has expired.plz advice.will reinstalling the windows xp work?for better cooling also i have installed 2 fans for the cpu.

I have 256 MB DDR 2 RAM 400Mhz 240 pins (PC2-3200) installed on my desktop which has 915 GV intel motherboard, P4 3.0 Ghz with H.T, 800 Mhz FSB with XP pro o/s.
I know the mother board of this configs can hold upto 2 GB RAM. But I use only Photoshop 7 & coreldraw 11 (both occasionally!). 90% time I ONLY use internet. I don't play any games etc. I am planning to install identical ram of 256 MB, increasing the memory to 512 MB. What you guys suggest, is it enough for me ?

I want to download my analog movies from my videocamera, 8mm, to the computer thru my capture device. However, when I plug it into my computer it says my USB connections are too slow, I need a high speed one. Cant it still work but only slower, I dont care if it takes all night to download the stupid video content! Please explain, thanks you in advance.

I just reinstalled widows os, on new hard drive and new board. Windows locks up mouse freezes. Powers up but occasionally freezes. Did this with another MB and raid hard drives. Only thing in common on both systems, CPU, Power supply, and video card. It's driving me nuts.

He had the new Video Card installed by a friend but now he has no sound at all. Does installing the new video card do something to the sound? Do you have to disable the old card and enable the new? Any help would be great.

When I try to click on any folder the explorer stops responding.

I have a dell computer. It is pretty new. The DVD/CD Drive is not responding when I press the open/close button and when I do get it open it does not read the disk. It doesn't respond at at all. Any suggestions. If I take it to get fixed would that cost more than buying an external drive?

I'm using a custom built computer. When I first built this computer I was able to run two World of Warcraft games at one time, with no lag. Lately, as I try to open both of them, the comptuer will restart after about a minute of them both being on. This never used to be a problem before, but now I can't get two of them run at the same time without a restart. I've got Panda AntiVirus and Adaware and check my computer often. I'm running an AMD x2 Dual Core 3800+ wtih 2gb ram, radeon xt1600 vid card with 512mb, and a 380 power supply.

instead of that across my screen I have ''yahoo welcome beta mail'' in large letters! I can't get rid of it. If I go into desktop/properties etc it does not show up, so I can change the image on my desktop but the 'Yahoo' stuff is superimposed over the top. I would welcome any tips!
