I have a Sony PCV-RX640, with a 32MB Graphics Card. I have never installed or removed a graphics card in a computer before, and I have no idea which one to get. I have no idea which one's are compatiable with my computer. I'm not sure which one to get because some video cards have plugs and ports of which I don't know what are. Mainly I just want to know if all video cards are supported with my computer. I have 2 PCI, and one AGP (or what ever it's called). Please no vague or stupid answers.

Does anyone know if toner and ink cartridges and computers and printers "really" get recycled? What happens to the old stuff? How can someone actually get their old stuff truly recycled? What to do?

I have a Sony Vaio and it locks up on the screen that says SONY for approx 10 minutes. After that everything seems to run fine. I've ran scandisk, disk defragmenter, and even reloaded the operating system and this problem will not go away. I'm thinking something could be off in the bios settings or maybe my motherboard could be damaged. Any suggestions?

I would like to build a budget priced computer that will be fast enough for heavy graphics computer games. But still be usefull for my home maintenance utilities. What would you put into a system that meets these requirements but still costs less than $800.00 (I have a case to use)

I hear its better to leave the computer running "On" and just have the monitor "off" when not in use. If you keep rebooting On and Off daily that can damage your computer. This was information given to me many years ago. Is this still true or ever true?

I turned on my compter today and it said while booting up...(XP)
that " volume is dirty"
"the type of file system is NTFS"
Then it did a chkdsk for Files
Then it did a chkdsk for Indexes
then it deleted like 15 files
then it did a chkdsk for Security Descp... something
all the files said $I30

Hi,

I want to upgrade my computer by adding SDRAM dimms. Actually I have one SDRAM 256Mb PC133 in it and I want to know if I can add two SDRAM 512Mb PC100 in the empty slots ?

Can I combine two different (PC100 and PC133) and if not, can I replace the PC133 by the two PC100 and what would be the impact of doing that ?

Thanks

I have charter internet, which comes w/free spyware/virus protection. Something isn't right. My PC has started going VERY slow. Sometime Internet Explorer will shut down for no reason. Programs won't respond. I've done virus scans, no viruses found. I've done spyware scans & everytime I do one, it seems to find "malware from "clickspring" in my windows/system32/N?lookup.exe folder. Everytime I reboot, I get a message that a virus was found "trojan downloader" in my win32.purityscan folder. Sometimes, while surfing the net, my charter virus/spyware protection icon gets an X over it & says there's a malfuction in it & I have to reboot before it works again. I've used disk cleanup, defrag, several virus & spyware scans. I've deleted programs (I keep getting the message that I'm running low on virtual memory as well). I have a lot of important things on this computer & can't afford to lose them (& cnt afford to pay 2 hv it looked @). What cld be wrong & how cld I try 2 fix it?

I was wondering since my friends always tell me that my computer always runs slow because I have many items on my desktop, I think It's just my 333MHZ processor. I keep my computer well maintainted, there are no viruses, adware or spyware, and I have software to clean out cookies and temp files, and I occasionally defragment. If I deleted some stuff will it make the computer run any faster? Oh and I only have about 5 things that run at start up, Norton antivirus, Spyware doctor, WinampAgent, and some windows thingy, and that's it. What could it be?
