It is not possible to end process on "System Idle Process" as it is simply a mothod of showing what system resources are NOT being used. The higher it is the better. If it is running at 90 - 99% that means that almost all of your processor and memory resources are free to be used by other programs. If your system is slow and your idle process is that high you may first want to see what IS running and try shutting those non-essential items down. You may also want to evaluate the hardware resources you have available and what you are running. You will only ever run so fast, for example. if you are running an older PC with 256 MB RAM and a 1 Ghz processor.

The total CPU usage always has to add up to 100%. If the processes that are running use less than this, system idle process fills in the rest. It doesn't affect your performance, because system idle process is after the other processes have used all that they need. The process is actually a lot more complex than this, but this is the basic operation.

CTRL+ALT+DELETE see what all is running. If there are a lot of programs running, end some of them. Also SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY, it works wonders in killing spyware. You can get it free @ www.downloads.com
