Itr depends on your motherboard but if the system is too old then maybe it's not compatible. search your motherboard catalouge

Yes you can. Compaq computers are funny and normally require proprietary memory, but just about all of the others will let you.

If you mix and match the PC100 and PC 133 Mhz memory, then they will be operating at 100Mhz.

If you have all PC133 Mhz memory now, then you may need to go into the BIOS and also change the memory timing (some pc's automatically adjust it, most need it manually set).

I believe its PCI Clock speed that you want to adjust to take advantage of the extra speed.

most pc133 is compatible with pc100 BUT when you mix it all of the memory will operate at 100mhz, most P3 systems can use 384 or 512 mb of ram, You may need to buy it used as not sure if they make it anymore, but it is cheap so I would max out the motherboard also change the battery go to walmart cr2032

Hey there, it yes you can put 256mb, it depends on your computer, email me your computer specs and I will look them up, because mostly old computers only allow you to put up to 128mb only, but email me and tell me your computer name, and model, and I will tell you the most ram you can put in you pc.
