The video card should be fine, 2 gig RAM is perfect, and Samsung makes good LCDs. Not sure about the Lite-On drive (DVD? CDR?) However, a couple of things come to mind:
1) Get a bigger hard drive. Western Digital makes great 400gb and 500gb drives. You might consider a dual HD system, with one 10,000 rpm drive (like the 74 gig Raptor) plus a large capacity drive from WD (300+ gig).
2) Ideally, you should get a dual core processor. The AMD x2 3800+ is at a good price point right now ($299).
Also a warning: AMD is switching to a new socket for its procs called AM2. Future chips will require the AM2, so if you plan to upgrade for years to come, you should go with an AM2 socket motherboard rather than the 939 socket you have now. Of course, socket 939 chips will be available a long while, it's just that AMD is phasing it out.

Yeah, there are some problems with that setup. First of all, more than half of the 7900GT's that have been bought have failed. I know more than one person who are on their third 7900GT, and the card has only been out for 8 or 10 weeks.

Secondly, that power supply isn't enough for a high-end gaming machine. Not at all. This is the power supply you should buy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103512 Don't go cheap on a power supply, it's the most important component in a computer, by far.

And, if you're planning on overclocking that A64, that isn't a good motherboard. You'd be much better off with a DFI, if you can afford it, or an Epox, which is nearly as good, but costs much less. Also, unless you buy an Asus motherboard, don't get Corsair RAM. AMD motherboards, for some reason, don't like it at all, unless they're made by Asus. OCZ makes MUCH better RAM, that will work well with any motherboard made, for about the same price. And, if you'll be overclocking, buy G.Skill PC4000 RAM.

Everything else looks good, though. I'd seriously look into a Sapphire or PowerColor X1800XT, X1900XT, or X1900XTX, if I were you.

What's you budget?

If unlimited, use a Dualcore proc. Intel has lowered their prices for their Pentium D 9xx processors. You have to use another mainboard then too, one that is suitable for socket 775. You could buy a faster graphicscard, 7900GTX for example. And you've got little hard drive space, I recommend at least 160 GB.
With de Pentium D 9xx you can use DDR2 memory, it's a bit faster :)

Seems all compatible to me. Looks like you favored the RAM and the video card very much over the processor. I guess for gaming you can get good performance that way. You will need a new mobo and proc to upgrade in the future though.

Sure that would be fine, as far as I know. It would help if I knew how much it all cost, though.
