if you click on start then go to my computer and right click. a menu will drop down and click at the bottom on properties. a window called system properties will open up. the first page is the general information about your system and it will tell you what version of windows you are running and what kind of motherboard or computer system you have depending if its a brand name or a clone (built) system and then the processor name, size and speed and finally the amount of RAM or random access memory available to the system. remember that it sets aside some of this for the level 2 cache so if you have 128MB of RAM then your computer will probably tell you that you have around 100 MB instead. Hope that helps

Well during boot procedure you can check your BIOS, the genreal information page will list your processor type, time date, and most important to you RAM. If you are using windows operating system then you can take a look at system properties page (which can be reached through control panal or right clicking the mouse on my computer icon) displays the processor make and model and the amount of memory that you have installed in your machine.

Sure, switch on the machine. The Power On Self Test should check the amount and health of the installed RAM,the first thing when the machine's power switch is pressed. There's no other way of knowing the amount of RAM a machine has without its documentation or opening up the cabinet.
I hope this was helpful to you.Have a nice day!!
