Yes, they should. But be careful of the soundcard fitting, it can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing.
Actually, until a few years back, that was the way it happened, there were very few motherboards with integrated soundcards.

If it isn't any longer already grew to change into on on your BIOS, then turn it on there. you understand, even as it says hit Delete (Or now and again another key) to enter setup once you first start up the gadget. you'll likely dinf it lower than the heading of onboard peripherals or some thing like that. make positive the cardboard isn't disabled. once you try this, living house windows ought to without delay locate it without delay and prompt you to position in the drivers, or use outfitted in ones if it has one for the sound chipset you've. you should judge a actual soundcard in spite of the indisputable fact that. utilising onboard peripherals has a tendency to decelerate the CPU because it truly is actual doing the artwork which a discrete (upload on card) sound card may do by technique of itself. And the outfitted in playing cards commonly do not sound particularly a lot almost as good as an effective previous Soundblaster card.

How old is your PC, if less than 3yrs old most come with on board sound, check volume setting is not on mute, check that bios settings are ok (usually get into them by pressing del key at start-up) also check that speakers are plugged in. If none of above, then fitting sound card with speakers etc should work no problems.

Make sure that when the time comes to install the sound card that you use a esd strap or at least make good contact from the computer metal frame to your body often to prevent electrostatic discharge. And make sure the sound is not disabled in the BIOS!
