When your computer is booting try presseing on F8 repeatedly till a screen appers with boot options

In there select "Disable restart on System Failure"
See what happens there will appear a blue screen with some type of error in it or your computer will start normally
If the problem continues restart your computer again press F8 repeatedly
Now select the option
"Last known good configuration"

Hope this works

boot your PC then use F8 then choose promt, it use to open your pc without going to your windows. it will lead you to c:\ promt then type c:\ scanreg/restore or c:\ scanreg/fix or if your not sure of the right thing to type then try scanreg/? for futher instruction. restore will let you select from previous day where you have run your pc smoothly. the fix will let you fix the registry but I recommend you to use restore first then download a registry fixer software like Registry Mechanic. but if this will not solve your problem, try to reinstall your OS.

There appears to be a conflict somewhere.

Have you recently added new hardware? or possible software that may have changed configurations of any of your hardware devices (video or sound settings?)

That is your most likely problem

Scandisk, in my experience, has never, ever, ever found a problem that it can fix. Exit it, you won't do any damage. Try booting in safe mode. Scandisk was one of the worste Microsoft inventions ever.
