I recently bought a second hand flat bed scanner, I am not sure of the brand but is does say color scantak spot tech. I plugged it into my pc without a problem but it doesn't power up. I assume I have to plug it into a power point but I can not find anywhere to connect a power cord. Has anyone got any idea?

I do plan to multi-task with this computer, but it would only be things such as Firefox, Windows Media Player, and other low-demand applications. They are both AMD Athlon 64.

if you need to reset your laptop back to factory settings, how do you do it please? the reason why i ask is because on my laptop on windows xp i had the vaio recovery tool so i could reset it back to factory settings and just put my programs in. now i have upgraded to windows vista with a custom install and have put all the divers and utilities etc from the discs sony sent me but their was no vaio recovery tool on the discs. they don't have that tool they said for vista. so if anything goes wrong i cannot reset it to start at the beginning with all the drivers in, i have to keep puttung the xp boot disc in and do all the updates and then install vista and do all them updates everytime. aaaaghhh!!!! what a nightmare. any ideas? thanks in advance

My new laptop crashes with windows vista! I have 2 gigs of ram. Vista came installed on my dell. It has top of the line graphics card and top of the line intel core duo. It will crash when surfing the web or just working with word perfect! One more crash and I am sending it back. I have called support and we have done a sytem restore. So far that has worked for now!

I acquired a laptop recently and I want to connect it to the internet using my current set-up that I have with Yahoo/AT&T. Since I don't have the installation disk anymore, does Yahoo have something I can download and transfer it to CD so I can use that info to connect the laptop to the internet?

Dell mentioned a data transfer cable? Is this possible? I also heard about programs you can buy to do it. Which is the best. If all I am concerned with is the Pics on the PC can I transfer them with a memory stick. Only have 56k and cant copy them to a disc all i have is floppy.

One day randomly after turning on my laptop it froze up after about a minute. So I booted safe mode and started running programs and it worked fine. Tried it again and froze after a couple minutes. Turned it off and later turned it on unplugged and it worked fine. So I tried plugging it in after using it for a couple hours and it froze a minute after plugging it in. I have no idea why. Also, only when it's on the lowest power setting does it work unplugged.

Safe mode or unplugged (power saver mode) works perfectly, plugged in or unplugged in high performance does not.

I can't figure this out.
