first i did an online test at crucial,they recomended a upgrade,ordered 2* 1gb 240-pin dimm 128*64 ddr2 pc2-4200 unbuffered for my compaq presario sr 1909uk system,i i removed my 512 memory,and installed both the new chips,trouble is my system only see 1gb,i swapped them round so i know they both work,i did plenty of research so i did not mess up,my bios is up to date,i contacted crucial via email this morning,but with it being the busy season it will be new year before they can answer my email,just wanted to know if you have any ideas of what i missing with this one,cheers guys and girls. out of the four slots,only the first one works,i read online some where,that sometimes when systems are first shipped that some banks might be disabled by the make,dont know if this makes any sence or how much truth there is in it

according to the specs of your model it will take up to 4GB ram ... so unless there is a problem it should recognise the full 2GB .... I read that you have 4 dimms ... try the ram in slot 1 and slot 3 instead of 1 and 2 ... try the 512 that you took out (cause you know that it works) in each of your 4 slots ...if you find a slot that doesn't work ... then thats your problem and don't use that slot ... Maybe your ram device isn't desinged to work with the ram you have on you system.

try going to www.powerleap.com and checking the memory with them i find them very good and have never had a problem.........
