my computer has a problem with his driver, when i go to control panel > display > setting > advanced > adapter, its all empty, as if nothing was there. but a few months ago i could run fable and tonnes of other games. it says the video card is sis 6330 but i cant find that anywhere. i tryied playing old cheap games that come free with breakfast stuff, and i can't play, i tried multiple games and mmos, but none seem to work.wtf is wrong with my video card? should i just wipe the comp out, (i did it recently because when i started my computer, as soon as i pressed a key on my keyboard, the mouse froze and i couldnt do anything with either the keyboard or the mouse) please post your answer here, and email me if you have any info. I have XP Media Center Edition, 8600 graphics cards (SLI), Intel Core 2 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 650 w power supply, bla, bla.
My system should be able to handle Vista.
I like to play simulators, and I want the better performance if I can get it out of Vista.
Is Vista better for gaming yet?
How are games being played on XP better or worse?
What are the risks associated with changing over to Vista?

My friend and a computer shop owner told me their unnecessary. They told me to just touch the case.

Are they necessary though? BTW the only ones I can find locally are cheap $5 ones that have no English (chinese) on the back. However it looks real with fabric, crocodile clamp etc etc...

Is touching the case really work as efficiently as a wristband? I know cheap Anti-ESD wristbands yeild almost same results as regular ones, but die out quicker because of their fabric.

I have an Intel 82915G/GV/910GL video card in my computer. I am having problems with some games because it says my card doesn't support Hardware accelerated Transform and Lighting. Do most newer games require this? Also is this a good card or should I upgrade? I play a lot of first person shooters. The one that wont work is "Joint Operations Typhoon Rising". Thanks

I'm trying to get The Sims 2 to work on my computer. Whenever I start it up, I get this message:

"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I know for a fact my computer has the latest DirectX installed, so the trouble is my video card, i'm assuming. It's a Diamond Fire GL1... it's a special card my dad uses to design stuff for his work. Does the game not regognize the card or something? What's going on? please help.

Hello, my PC has currently been messed up or just isn't functional. Well an infection notice kept popping up on my screen. Then the Computer was skipping and slow so i restarted my comp, a few mins later it comes up the the screen start safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, start windows normally, etc. Well i click safe mode and it doesn't want to start up in safe mode what it does is comes back to the selecting screen, any suggestions?
