If my computer did not come with a CD to erase my hard drive, is there anyway to erase it.

Also, for some reason I am unable to erase the Norton anti-virus that came with my dell 2400 series. When i try to uninstall Norton it tells me that I need to sign in as a Supervisor. My account is already set to administrator.

I have one more problem? when I tried to install Norton 2008, I was stuck again with an error saying that my firewall was blocking installation. I turned off my firewall and the same problem arose.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

my dsl disk doesnt seem to be installing into my computer after i wiped it out and i cant figure out what drivers i may need. I do know the usb cable is not being recognized on my dsl box. my computer is a dell dimension 2350. HELP

when i insert pendrive into port provided to my PC & when i tried to open,it is displaying please insert disk into drive(H). But the same pendrive worked with the same PC earlier. what might be the problem?

I am looking to buy a printer that will not give me issues when I refill the ink cartridges. Canon ip1800 is what I'm using but it's telling me the cartridge is empty. I've used several HP Photosmart printers, but they are very slow to print, in comparison. Lexmark is an option, but I don't want any that's a top feed because I've had 5 of those, that had feed problems.

The modem is a CDMA fixed wireless terminal and the packaging is written in Chinese which I cant read - meaning to say I cant establish who the manufacturer is. There is no drivers for the modem but only for the special USB-to-serial cable provided by the manufacturer.The device manager of Windows XP shows that both the modem & the cable are all working correctly but somehow I just cant connect to the Internet. I use a dial-up connection of which the modem is not dialing out.Please help with step - by - step configuration procedures if you can.

I have a broken ibook, the screen and graphics card does not work but the hard drive contains 13 gig of mp3 that I want to recover. Can I remove the drive and make an external drive. Also no longer have a mac (sorry) and want to get data on my laptop pc.

Hi. I know how to use a computer..just the basics though. I bought my 13 year old a Dell Inspiron from a friend that only had it for about a month and didn't use it but a couple of times(got a great deal).But the only thing that came with it is the cord to plug it into the wall. What other things do I need to get to go with it..and there are a few pictures that the guy took that are on it. I want it to appear new(not trying to trick him into believing that it's brand new but just think it would be best to give it to him with nothing on it that belongs to someone else).Any suggestions on what I should do and how do I go about it? Do I need extra cords or software?

with a static crackly type noise over the music. The tracks sound fine on my PC & iPod so I'm guessing it is the CD burner. I've also had some problems on DVDs I've burned. The PC is under a year old. What do you recommend? Do I need a new rewriter or can it be cleaned? TIA

So I was looking at the current desktop lineup from alienware and the top 2 models seem to be:

Seems to me like the ATI version has the better cpu option(QX9650) and the NVIDIA one has the better video card option(3-way 8800 Ultra sli). Disregarding prices what system do you think is best? Is cpu power more valued than graphics power?

I need to be able to create large (up to 20" x 20") permanent plastic stickers that are rugged and durable, waterproof, un-tearable, and virtually indestructable with normal daily use. They need to be able to withstand water, slight tearing, spills, wont fall off, etc. for roughly 4 months. How would I go about creating such a thing? This is for a business I run and I would like to be able to create such stickers in-house, rather than go to a printing company. What type of commercial printer would I need? what type of ink/paper, etc.? Basically how can i do this all with a small team of people? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

i've added a 320GB hard drive to my single-160GB, both IDE... didn't turn on. i've had it like that before and it did work, but needed the hard drive as external for travel. now i've tried to put it back and pc turns on but nothing shows on monitor (standby)...i removed new hard drive but same thing...nothing on monitor. i've done the appropriate jumper settings. can someone please help??

Obviously, the surface would be prepared appropriately ... but i'm looking for a printer that will print directly on to wood. I'm sure there would be one as toy manufacturers cant just enploy artists to paint pic's on to their wooden goods. I also realise that some manufacturers print stickers to put onto their wooden goods, but there has to be a printer that would print on to a flat wood surface. Please help
