i've added a 320GB hard drive to my single-160GB, both IDE... didn't turn on. i've had it like that before and it did work, but needed the hard drive as external for travel. now i've tried to put it back and pc turns on but nothing shows on monitor (standby)...i removed new hard drive but same thing...nothing on monitor. i've done the appropriate jumper settings. can someone please help??

i've re-connected graphics card and it wasn't it :(

i've replaced the IDE belt from motherboard to hard drive, still not it :(

Disconnect ALL drives. PC should still be able to beep once, display POST and be able to open BIOS menu. If it does not, try reseating ATX power connectors and cpu cooler fan connector. If nothing happens, problem could be with motherboard or power supply.
If bare set up works fine, problem could be with one of the hard drives.

detach all hard drives and remove the battery and in the power off conditions. then power on the system. if display comes, then if you are using both hard disks on single belt then make the windows hdd master and the other one to slave by setting jumpers. This will solve your problem

This can be caused by many issues. This sounds like the machine is not getting enough power. Switch the power connectors around. Make sure that you are not overloading one conector as it will create a power drain for the whole system.

change the belt to with hard drive is attached purchase a new one or fix the belt u r using properly

Check the graphics card, and see if it is loose in its slot, if it is then reseat it.
