If my computer did not come with a CD to erase my hard drive, is there anyway to erase it.

Also, for some reason I am unable to erase the Norton anti-virus that came with my dell 2400 series. When i try to uninstall Norton it tells me that I need to sign in as a Supervisor. My account is already set to administrator.

I have one more problem? when I tried to install Norton 2008, I was stuck again with an error saying that my firewall was blocking installation. I turned off my firewall and the same problem arose.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

With regard to the CD, contact DELL SUPPORT, they usually have a restore partition or you are meant to make OWN recovery discs I believe

Norton is locked because the ADMIN account has not got the proveliidges needed, again ASK DELL SUPPORT how they set up a machine, might have another account they can help you into, alsought restoring to factory settings will wipe all this anyway.

DBAN will erase your hard drive, but then you will have no operating system , programs, or data. If that's what you want:

http://dban.sourceforge.net/

If you are talking about a restore CD, you probably have to burn it yourself. Open up "help" and look for a restore CD wizard.
