I have a broken ibook, the screen and graphics card does not work but the hard drive contains 13 gig of mp3 that I want to recover. Can I remove the drive and make an external drive. Also no longer have a mac (sorry) and want to get data on my laptop pc.

I would say 'yes' .. I belive all Mac. drives can be 'read' using a PC = of course it's possible that your may need some software to understand the hard drive format (check the forums)

Check the interface type (some Mac's used SCSI drives, however I believe g3 were all old standard ATA or the newer SATA (PC style = again, check the forums) if so, I believe you can still purchase a USB2 'external ATA drive case' from ebay (Maplin may also have both the older ATA and newer SATA types) ..
