Thats normally the going rate for used processors that old, and I can buy them for about $15 to $20 from my dealer. Now days everyone is going duel core and it will be hard for you to get more than $20 for it being that most shops use them in refurbs. They are not ripping you off like some of the others have stated, they can not own a business, and no how we that run honest shops try hard to keep over head down so all of our customes can get repairs at good prices. That processor sells for about $25-$30 on ebay.

I don't know about used, but I can tell you new it costs about $50 retail. What you'd be giving them is OEM so say $40 new. I can tell you that you are unlikely to get more anywhere else. And if you find a place that will offer you more it will have taken so long, and the amount will be so little, that you will probably end up getting an extra $2/hr on your work. I'd just sell it to them, unless you're gonna do something with it in the future. They're definitely not selling it to anyone else for more than $20.

This is a pretty budget computer. If you're going to do some gaming, this is not the computer for you. All this computer can do is word-processing, listening to music, web surfing, but none or very limited gaming.

That processor new is around $60, I don't think $10 is worth it. Save it for a rainy day or until you get a better offer.

man they are trying to rip you off.... It's not the newest processor out, but it definatly goes for more than $10
I would try to sell it online, maybe go to ebay or craigslist. With that speed you could easily make $50 or more

I bet you could get a bit more on eBay if you kept the original packaging material...

You can get more, but for how much and when you can rid of that is open to luck.
