968 megabytes is just 32 megabytes short of 1 gigabyte.

The 32 mb is used for the boot sector on the memory disk.

Don't return it. It's perfectly okay.

The manufacturer uses 1000 mb as a gb.

The file system uses some of the space to hold the File allocation tables, and directory structure, partition table, and master boot record.

I wouldn't worry about it. 1g is 1000mb, so it's close. Devices usually use a little more memory than you think they're going to just to operate. Like when you have a 20GB hard drive on a computer, you NEVER are going to have that much space "available."

1 G is 1000 MB. You didn't get shorted. Some of the memory is being used for the operating system.

1GB is 1000MB to most cards that say 1GB (1024MB in reality, but if you read the fine print it will most likely say 1GB = 1000MB), but some of that gets lost due to formatting. 968MB is very close. And accurate, no worries.

By the way there is no boot sector on a memory card, or any modern hard drive format anymore.

This always happens when you buy any amount of memory. Whether it's 1Gb or 500Gb, you never get exactly what it says on the box. It's always a little less. Yes, 968mb is extremley close to 1Gb( 1Gb is 1000Mb).

That is probably the free space available. The operating system and active data will take up a few megabytes. There is nothing wrong with the card.

Yes it is close, and some memory goes to settings, fliles, other things 1024 MG= 1 G

That is because the manufacturer measures in 1000kb to 1 MB, the phone actually sees 1024kb to 1MB so it makes it look smaller.

1024MB's=1GB Somebody stole 56MB's from your phone! Just kiddin'! It's probably used by the phones settings, nothing to worry about!
