You did not specify manufacturer or model of your cpu. The 8600 is not a very powerful card. Both crysis and COD 4 scale very well for slower systems, you will be able to run them fine, at lower settings.

Most likely acceptable up to medium settings only. High settings would only be possible with the 8700M GT SLI, 8700M GTS or the 8800M GTX.

I'd do what msaz200 suggested, this way you'll know for sure, I'm not too sure about laptops !!!!!!!
