when i start my computer from a power button my computer processor fan just starts a bit and then goes out...
it stops after 5 sec but the motherboard is fine.supply to motherboard is coming but only the processor fan stops ater 5 min and computer does not starts...
plz help

i can see the two front sound slots (one for microphone and the other for headphone) that are attached with the casing. how can i attach them with the motherboard so that i can connect my headphone in the front slot, rather than going all the way back , to hear music?

my sound card is creative sound blaster 5.1 and the motherboard is asus

I have an IBM A31 laptop on my desk. I have an HP d5000 at my chair. Both use plugs with those lil' ol' boxes with cords leading to cylindrical plugins at the butt-ends of the computers. It surely would be handy, now and then, to cart the HP over to the desk and plug it in to the IBM's power cord (instead of unplugging the HP's cord, threading it out from under the chair, and carrying it over to the desk, and on, and on...)

Is it likely, these converters are the same? Or do I risk frying a computer? I MOST ASSUREDLY don't want to risk damaging a computer, of course.

...Should I go to the extent of bugging HP chat-line or some other tech rep?

i'm looking to buy a custom made desktop pc to handle game which use alot of ram etc. i've got fair idea of a 2gb ram with an 80gb main hdd and a (750gb slave hdd for the games) with a 22" flat panel mon. but i need a super mainborad with super fast procssor and a good vid card but i dont really what the vid card to be over £150 many thanks rusty

It says something like "if its the first time, restart the computer..." but we tried that and it keeps taking it back to the same blue screen. Any suggestions...it also says if we have anti virus installed to uninstall it, but how do we do that if the screen wont change?

I've running on (x4) 512 (3200) sticks of Ram now buy my board will not allow me to run them at speed 400. They are made to run all 400 speed(Patriot brand) but my mobo won't run them that fast in all slots. I've tried trading slots & changing memory settings in the bios received from the manufacturer, but still no luck to run all of them at 400. I can however run 2 of them Dual channel 400 in 2 slots. They are only running at 333 in all 4. Any ideas?

I've bought my VAIO VGN-BX561B Notebook last August and ever since, it was heating a lot. After the first day of use, I went back to the store from where I bought it and told them, and they said it was normal. Now do you think it is normal, for it is really hot! And what should I do?

PS: my warranty is still valid untill next August.

I was on my laptop as usual and suddenly the charger started to make noises and then when i looked down at it steam started to come out from it, so i instantly switched it off and nothing happened, but i don't want to risk usuing the laptop again incase it catches fire! Before this though it had difficulty in switching on and wouldn't always connect properly with the laptop, it also wasn't charging the laptop it was only making it run without charging. what do i do now?

i formatted a 150GB SATA harddisk, i even delete the partition and create a new partition again and install new OS on it.

now i wan to recover the data. i use GetDatBack for NTFS. it takes me 5hrs to scan for all sectors! now i'm hanged at select files to recover this step.

is there any FREE software that can recover data faster?

When I got home from work, the display in my monitor is now too wide. The vertical part of the screen is doing fine except that it really is too wide. I tried adjusting using the PROPERTIES and changed the SETTING but it won't budge and then restoring the system of the computer by going to Accessories and clicking on SYSTEM RESTORE and selected a few days ago but still no luck. I also tried the MENU option in the monitor where you can adjust the brightness and the contrast of the monitor. I've already tried adjusting the breadth and width of the display. Im having a headache now, can anyone please help me?

I don't know how this happened but my sister was the one who used the computer last night. She must have played a game or something which made the monitor display too wide. *I have read somewhere that when you play CERTAIN games, it will automatically adjust the display on your monitor.* Maybe something like this happened. Im not blaming anyone.
