There are several ways to do it
1) Take out the hard disk from old computer, attach it as a slave disk to the new computer.
2) Use a External USB case to connect the old hard disk with the new computer through USB port
3) Use a crossover cable to connect network cards of both computers to create a network between them
4) Copy all data from the old hard disk onto cds/dvds

How much data are we talking about?

If it's more than a GB, use and external disk... it's faster.

On the other-hand, you can burn CD or cdrw or DVD.... and you have a backup as well.

You can use an usb stick.

There are enough medias to help you, do you want it cheap or fast or do you need a backup as well???
