When I am using my PC, doing some work for example...it just reboots by itself all of a sudden. This is not the first time it's happened. I scanned it for viruses but there are none. What's worng with it? What so I do?

Please notice I mean PS/2, NOT Playstation 2. Anyway, I'm working on some projects and need to enter text to a PC through devices other than keyboards, I am not familiar with the USB protocol but it seems like a Parallel-in, Serial-out shift register might do the trick. Do you know of any IC's that might help me with that? Thanks a lot.

Which would be more effective for pure gaming performance in a notebook? I can't seem to find many/any Pure comparisons for gaming benchmarks.

im looking to get a new laptop to replace me PC and im not really sure if a 1.7GHz 1Mb processor is better, worse, or about the same as a 1.6GHz with 2Mb

im not a hardcore gamer or anything, i mainly will be using the laptop for word-processing and occasionally playing games like Warcraft, which doesn't take much power at all.

for some reason my hard drive wont turn on when i plug it in. I was running out of open usb ports so i plugged in a Dynex 7-port usb hub to get more. i have owned this product for a few months and have always been successful with it. Then the other day when i plugged it and my external 80GB hard drive in it was working fine. i went to the bathroom while my game from the external was loading and everything was fine. when i came back, i smelt something like chlorine, but i figured why get up and look when i can play my game for 2 more mins, its probably nothing serious. When the smell started getting really strong i knew it was near me, before this it was a very weak smell so i figured it was in my neighbors yard or something. i looked around and saw nothing but then looked at the usb hub. it had white smoke pouring out of it. my game had shut off anf my hard drive failed to appear. I tried plugging it in but nothing happened. Does anyone know what happened wrong.

I just purchased a lcd monitor for my pc and it sucks. My old Nec crt monitor is a hundred times better. The lcd monitor i purcahsed was a viewsonic 700:1 contrast ratio and I ifnd it blurry. Are there any good lcd monitors that are as good as the crt monitors? Also what is the contrast ratio for most crt monotors anyway, because they seem to be much more clear than the new lcd monitors?

I am wanting to do a wipe of my drive using gwscan on my gateway gt5404 The boot cd works on all other computers but on mine it says it cannot detect my drive. It sometimes says free dos on it.
