I just purchased a lcd monitor for my pc and it sucks. My old Nec crt monitor is a hundred times better. The lcd monitor i purcahsed was a viewsonic 700:1 contrast ratio and I ifnd it blurry. Are there any good lcd monitors that are as good as the crt monitors? Also what is the contrast ratio for most crt monotors anyway, because they seem to be much more clear than the new lcd monitors?

The Best CRT will always be better than the best LCD, just like a Record Player will always be better than a CD Player, a Laser Disc will be better than a DVD, etc...

The question is when is a DVD, LCD, or CD good enough. With LCDs it is the more expensive one's. There are LCDs out there that 98% of the population can't tell the difference. They do cost a lot more though sometimes 3-4x more for the same size.

On that note, I will always take the best LCD because it weighs 10 times less, takes up 10 times less space, and as you get bigger and bigger the difference becomes even greater in terms of weight and size.
