I'm getting an HP laptop, and I want to know what to do to keep it from exploding, because I'll be using it as a desktop so it'll be constantly plugged in like a desktop. So what is the best thing to do to prevent a laptop explosion...(take out battery?)

On my desktop screen, my " left click" won't work when it comes to opening games, I have to right click, then make a choice from the window that opens up. On the internet, when I click on items, instead of underlining, or "brightening" the item, as usual, a dotted line outline shows up instead. I'.ve gone into the mouse program, and put the selections back to "default" in case I "mis-clicked", and caused the problem accidently, but that didn't work. Help!! (It's a Hewlett-Packard mouse, and has always worked fine, till now. And the rechargeable batteries are fully charged, and new- approx. 2 mths. old) Thanks!

I have used an inkjet printer for a while now and i am considering getting a laser printer.I see that you can get refills for the laser printers toner catridge.

Is a laser printers toner cartridge fairly easy to refill? Is laser printer toner expensive?Would it be more cost effective to just keep using my inkjet printer?

It was my fathers computer and he has passed away. I don't know what he had or how to do it,but a computer shop said it would take about an hour and $35.00. But also that I would have to take the tower in too. Can't I fix this problem at home for free?

When I boot my PC, the machine doesn't boot all the way until the desktop appears, it stops shortly after the Windows Welcome screen. However, I can use Ctl/Alt/Delete to open then Task Manager, and use Task Manager to open up my applications, and see my files etc. Because of this I don't think the hard drive is knackered.

Using task manager, it shows the 'CPU usage', and this is going up and down all the time from 0 to 100% - any ideas? Does this seem like the CPU is knackered? It's a Dell Dimension 2400

I have an eMachines PC with Windows XP Media Center 2005. For a couple of weeks, the computer randomly restarted . Now, it will not turn on at all. I turn the computer on, and the fan turns on. Nothing comes on the display. Is there something I need to do to fix it? There is plenty of ventilation. Is it a motherboard issue or a power issue? I have scanned my computer for viruses, and there are no viruses in it. I also scanned for spyware. I have removed all spyware from the PC.

I have a Gateway notebook model MX3562. My ac adapter recently broke on me. However, my sister has a different model of gateway laptop. Her ac adapter is bigger and has more watts then my original one. Can her gateway liteon ac adapter be used on my laptop? Im using it right now, and im getting power for it. However, Im afraid that too much power might not be good for my laptop. Any advice? Thanks...

I'm looking for a new computer running Vista, at least 256mb graphics card and over 100 gig hard drive... I don't really want to spend much more than £450... I've been looking at PC World packages which include monitors, and am currently being swayed by the HP Compaq 2129 with lightscribe technology. Anyone know what I should go for, or some websites i can try?
Thank you!

I am a 16 year old with an interest in technology. I have a decent job and have a respectable amount of spending money, but I would rather not spend more than 1000 dollars. I want to buy a computer that will not completely suck with in two years. I don't need a fancy graphic card or anything, just a computer that I can run a lot of things at one time and store a lot of music and such. Also I am considering switching to Linux so if you have any suggestions about that id appriciate it.
