The sound on my computer wont work. I dont know why. (its a laptop) my dad took it into work yesterday and they couldnt figure it out either. It has a scroll thing on the frong that i usually use. But its not doing anything. The manual thing on the side is gone too. (but i think i accidently deleted that....but it was working after i deleted that) and now it doesnt show up on the control panel....WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?! (my dads buissness owns it its not ours)

Its a Gateway i dont know what model though....

the requirements are CPU Pentium 4 1.3GHz or higher and I am running a pentium 3 866mhz computer. The drive is in a functioning fine but do I have to worry about overheating or anything with regards to my pc's performance?

I was on newegg looking for hard drives and it seems that so many of them either arrive dead or die soon after being purchased. Is this normal for so many hard drives to die like that or is it Newegg's fault? Thanks.

i have a asrock k7s41gx motherboard (see pic http://www.pc2580.com/thismonth/asrock-k7s41gx.jpg) i want to know i already i have 2 cd drives and i want to know if i can put 2 more in even if i have no things to plug another cd cord into so is there a special cord that i can get that has enough things for four cd drives and also i only have 2 power cords for drives how can i acomplish this and how much would it cost my case can hold 4 drives and its a desktop

i was using an emachines computer with windows 98 SE, before i got a new computer, and I wanted to know the possiblility of retriving files off the desktop. I have important family photos and music files i would like to save from the desktop. I was told by a friend who knows about computers that the motherboard no longer works...does this mean that my desktop files are non-retrievable? HELP...i need second and third opinions on this question.

The computer was recently wiped before I recieved it, the monitor didn't work when I plugged it in, and I was told I needed a new video card. I bought a new one, plugged in the monitor, and still no picture, because I haven't installed the driver yet. So I need to install a driver on a computer with no display, and I was wondering if there was maybe a way to hook up to another computer remotely and do everything that way, or if I'm out of luck here.
