Hi. Raising the FSB will increase performance some but the best situation is when the FSB and RAM speed match.

No the Clock Speed has nothing to do with the Bus speed. Here's the low-down

You have Bus Speed and Clock Stepping

The higher the Bus Speed ot FSB (Front Side Bus), the higher the Bus speed of the the ram.Clocking is how the ram is used and there are different clock speeds for different types of RAM.

Now if your Motherboards FSB is 400, then your ram is DDR PC3200 clocking at around 2.5

If you run a 333MHz FSB, your RAM is DDR PC2700 Clocking at 2.5 - 3.0 and so on...

It is the maximum RAM speed that the system can use, but it's not the RAM speed itself.
