Dear Friend,
You may not have a DVD player in your computer. Else your computer may not have a DVD plugin. Install any of these:
Windows Media Player 11
Winamp 5
Real Player.
If it still dosn't work buy a CD DVD Combo drive or better get a DVD Burner for a few bucks extra.
Thank You.

You have to buy a DVD drive or a CD-RW/DVD Combo drive. Your CD Drive will not play DVDs. They can be expensive.
But you could try finding one on EBay.com or Amazon.com
You might be able to find a good deal. I have bought quite a few items on EBay for my computers at about half the price.

Artec & other companies make an external Combo DVD ROM/ CD-RW it can be used on either a laptop or desktop. And attaches to your computer through a USB cable. I bought one on Amazon.com for about $25.00 . The reason I like this one is it is versital. You can use it only when you need it, and like I said it can be used on either a Laptop or Desk top with no installation software needed.

Take Care,
Kali :-)

Buy a DVD drive.

You can get a dual layer burner for like $20.

Go to Frys or a local computer store and buy one. Pull out the old one and put in the new one. It's super easy. You just have to remove two screws (most of the time) and unplug the old one and plug the new one in.

There should be nothing to install. And if there is, it comes n a disk with the drive.

Good luck.

If your PC has a DVD player that cannot read DVD's, only CD's, then first you could check the troubleshooters on Windows, and if that doesn't work, you could have someone check your drive to see if anything is wrong with it.

Now, I'm not much of a techhie, but I think you should go get yourself a DVD drive. It's a magical little device that allows your computer to play DVDs. And no, duct tape will not wire it to your computer. It will serve just fine as a rudimentary way of attaching it, but there are things called "wires" that you need to connect inside the computer.

You cna't just make a CD player become able to play DVD's. You're forced to buy a DVD drive or a CD/DVD drive and install it onto your computer.

Your CD drive cant play DVD's, but new DVD drives are pretty cheap. I got one recently that reads and writes CD's and reads and writes DVD's.
