I just checked my Hard Drive memory capacity since it kept saying that i didn't have enough memory when i tried downloading something. When i check my HDD it says i have used 27GBs and i have 3 GBs left. I know my HDD is 40GBs.

I don't know if the reformatting has to do with this but can someone answer my question why my HDD suddenly lost 10 GB?

hey, our internet connection isn't working on my home computer, a compaq S6300NX, so we decided we would do a full system recovery. well, we put the disks in, booted from them, and we selected full recovery, and then as it was saying preparing recovery partition, it froze, and the bar wouldn't move, so my mom was impatient and held the power button, tried it again, and it goes about half way on the bar, then says hard drive write error, press any key. so i did, then it reboots and does it again. It is runnin XP SP2, and we replaced the HD a couple months ago. could that be the problem?

i currently have a dell inspiron.. i have 3 other dell computers.. all have problems, i hate dell

i need to buy a new laptop.. so i am looking for something nice. i need something fast, atleast 1gb memory. i dont care about harddrive space. I am looking for intel also. i will use it to answer emails, browse the net, create websites, play games, etc..

so if you have any recommendations (other than dell)... please post it here... thanks

Recently I bought a thinner cable to connect my harddrive with instead of the bulky ribbon cable, and it didnt seem to work. After hooking up my old ribbon cable to the harddrive with everything as it was when it worked last, I turned on the computer and the harddrive and the dvd drive didnt start. I eventually figured out that if i unhook the dvd drive, the harddrive will work. This is great temporarily, but can anyone tell me what is wrong and how i can fix it?

i just installed a new hard drive into myy computer. I contacted the hard drive company, and verified that the hard drive is installed correctly. I have brand new recovery cd's for my computer, so I run the full recovery, when it finishes, I reboot the computer and I eventually get a blank screen. Without having to puchase the retail version of xp, what do I need to do?

I have inserted the recovery disk in my packard bell ME computer as it is blocked. It has read the disc but in order to proceed I need to press OK but it will not read the mouse. (I have tried 2 different mouses). The cursor does not appear. How can I continue?

I've got an external usb hard drive and 2 computers. At the moment, I have connected to one comp and shared on the network, but I'd much rather be able to connect it to both simultaneously as the network solution is somewhat slow. Is this posible?

The PC will not start up, it says it was closed down improperly last time and says start in safe mode, normally or last time you knew it worked.
In safe mode it says something to do with partitions, and normal and last time it worked it just keeps going in a loop and I can't read the error message. I have tried to press F10 when it is starting up but no luck.

Can anyone help?

Hi i bought a mobile card reader and my pc loaded it no problem saying driver installed , although they dont come with any software , i insert the sim card to the reader and connect it to my usb port and cant see or find anything ? I have a 5 year old packard bell computer with windows ME. It is blocked and refuses to respond to anything!! I have pressed F8 and F10 and F12 but nothing happens. It has been suggested that I reboot using the recovery disc but I am afraid of losing all my documents. Will I loose My documents and folders and soft ware I have inserted if I reboot?
