Toshiba is great until you need service or warranty repairs...I love their laptops but refuse to buy another one since they offer no real world solutions.

PS: I sell computers for a living and now put all my clients on Dell laptops because their service is second to none. I know you didn't want to hear that. You can always go with Compaq/HP if you have to but as a computer geek I've always hated working on HP machines.

my .02 watts.

Y'know, one computer is pretty much like another. They all have the same chip sets and general construction, and they'll all last pretty much forever. It sounds like you're probably having software problems, and these typically have nothing to do with the brand of the computer.

Normally most software should load and run on a Dell perfectly well. If not, there's an even chance that it's the software maker's fault.

I don't want to sound like the typical geek but; if you want something "nice, fast" lots of memory etc just for entertainment ... GET A MAC.

That's funny because I'm not even a Mac user. But if you want something "good" then spend more money. You get what you pay for, and usually Mac is more expensive, so go figure.

Good Luck,

Fujitsu Siemens. I bought an Amilo Pro V2000, and thusfar I have had NO complaints. I have it for 4 yrs now. It's fast and it's easy, for a person like me it is. You may want to look into it.

And never ever get Dell.
