Ok, I have an HP Pavilion 6630 that my kids play on. My daughter shoved a disc behind the drawer of the drive, so the drawer of the disc drive is stuck open, the disc is inside the drive, behind the drawer, keeping the door from closing. I can see the disc, can't reach it. So, how do I go about getting the disc out of my computer?

to my master 120 gig drive, only problem is that I cant find my partitioning software cd to format it into only one partition. The disk has an hp recovery partition taking up about 5 gigs.

What is the easiest way to format it and just have one, I know I could run my windows xp and do it without harming the operating system on the master but is there an easier way?

I have a computer that has been working fine for about a year, then today, out of the blue, my usb mouse, lan, and other usb ports stopped working. I tried restarting, with no avail. I also tried replugging in the mouse, it has a blue LED on it, which does light up, but the infared does not come on, i also tried using a ps/2 mouse which also didnt work. The only i/o port that seems to work is the keyboard which is a ps/2. what could be wrong?

so I have an old school IDE drive as C drive, where my OS is installed within. and I just added a new SATA as D drive, where my game will be installed within.

now, if I run the game from D drive, which's a SATA drive, will it get the speed advantage from being in a SATA drive? or it will be still running on the old IDE speed simply because my OS is running in the background in a IDE drive.

thank you !!

I know that you can get a firewire card for a desktop if you have an available "slot". BUT I have a LAPTOP so there are no slots - but would i be able to attach a firewire card to the laptop anyway (I don't care if the card is hanging off by a cable/looks crappy). thanks in advance!

yo. i have a ATA controller on my motherboard. and a PATA controller in a pci slot
i dont see in my boot menu how to change the boot order between the two. i set it to scsi to boot either.
it trys to boot the PATA drive first.
i have deleted the partition on that drive.
it says disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter.
rather than going on to the SATA drive with an os.
how can i fix it ?

See, I have found something, it is interesting to me. But don’t know why it happens.
Right Click on task bar and open Task Manager.
Then on Task Manager click on Performance tab, which shows your processor usage.
Close any other window or minimize them.
Now you should see only Task Manager (Performance tab) and Desktop.
Now, keep pressing any key on your keyboard longer. For example.
Press enter keep it for 3 seconds.. What happened? Nothing..
The processor still shows 2% usage.
If you press any key and keep it longer, the processor still shows a small percentage of usage.
But now try this:
Press (Print Scrn) and keep it for 3 second?
What happens?
Do u hear any sound from your computer?? Yes..
Look at the percentage.. it goes to 100%....
Why is it?

Well, I just changed my background from a dark background to a light background and I just noticed 2 tiny little horizontal lines on my screen.

I have a NEC Multisync FE791SB. Yeah, I know... kind of old school. But hey, it still runs :-D so whatever.

I'm on Windows XP btw if that helps any..

Anyway, anything I could do about these lines?(besides buying a new monitor)

thanks in advance,

Dominick

Can't afford a Dell workstation, so I will need to put together my own, and was wondering what combinations/recommendations you would make. at $978 the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor is a little out of reach, so was looking at Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 Merom 2.33GHz Socket M Processor Model BX80537T7600 - Retail for $630. How do they compare and what graphics card, case, motherboard, would you recommend? I work as graphic designer with photoshop 300-400MB files and also do a lot of 3D work and video digitizing. Any advice greatly appreciated.
