I want to upgrade it also.I want to put a PCI E
video card and 1GB of ram.Would i have to upgrade the PSU to power it? How many Watts is the PSU? Thanks for all of your help.

As a matter of fact I'm working on an acer right now for a friend. Its old and has many problems with upgrades. A memory upgrade won't allow it to post, I'm unable to find any bios updates, PCI bus drivers need new drivers but won't except anything other than the old drivers off the CD that came with the motherboard. I'm having trouble booting from a bootable disk, wireless PCI networking card won't work properly and unexpected restarts way to often. This Acer was built in 2001 and I don't know if any new acer's will follow this pattern or not.

My cousin has an acer and it hasn't had any problem for a year. I think Acer is a reliable brand, and did you know acer has a huge market share in EU and Asia?
The only thing is they have AMD processors instead of Intel. AMD processors tend to feel just a bit slower than Intel's of same class. But that's why they're cheap.
Check out ebay, you might find one for really cheap there.

i had a acer desktop it lasted 1 year and the motherboard blew up

all PCs are just a case. the components inside are from a bunch of different manufactureres. so my advice would be to find who makes the parts - then you can determine if it would be a good computer
