Yes!!! Until they announced 386. After seeing my friend's brand new 386, my blazing fast 286 suddenly became a turtle.

I can remember when things had to be done on a TYPEWRITER ... and when I went through my original Bachelor's Degree Programs ... it was with a SLIDE RULE! (Mainly because Calculators were so expensive ... huge, and cost several hundred dollars ... and you considered it a big deal when it had the square root function!).

Better question: Remember when telephones were permanently installed into the wall and you had to put your finger into a dial and use it that way? There were no "plugs" at that time ....

2mb of Ram??/.. Wow, Mine had 512K.. 1 Meg was cool.
My first one was I belive XT which was before 286. I remember funny story. XT was a bit outdated when I got it, but I was proud of it. And then one guy, who was a comput guru and had pumped up 286 came to me to fix it.

Hes is like:

- Or I see, its an XT
Me(all proud): Man, its TURBO,
Him: Yes TURBO, of course.

Good old MFM drive too. Also, still remember when 1 gigabyte hard drive was selling for $1,000! When they first came out.
