I have an Intel Core Duo on my laptop. I looked up its speed using dxdiag and I found that I had a:

T2400 @ 1.83 GHz (2 CPUs)

My question: Does this mean 1.83GHz for each CPU, or 1.83 GHz total? Thanks in advance.

Okay we've all seen the commercials that point out the PC's flaws and shows everything a MAC can do better than the PC. I was wondering what a PC does better? Ive always owned a PC and am considering buying a MAC. What are the negative aspects of the MAC?

I have a Dell Dimension E510 with a 17" Ultrasharp Digital Flat Panel monitor. Does anyone own the same? I hear a lot of snapping or crackling noises coming from the monitor while it is on and especially when I turn it off. At first I thought it was because it was cooling down, but I still hear the snapping hours later. Is this normal or do I have a problem? I still am under warranty. If I return it, I'm afraid I might get a reburbished one, which I have heard can and does happen. Thanks for any suggestions or comments!!

my computer is not working... like doesnt even turn on... all of it right now is disconnected.. and im using the librarys computer to write this... so here it goes.. i plug my monitor and the computer... then nothing else is connected at this point... in the back there is a cable that is blue and connects the computer to the monitor... when it is unconnected the monitor says check cable signal.. when i connect it, it goes completely black and nothing happens after like 1 minute the monitor turns off.. either help me or redirect me to someplace that can.

i believe the computer is working cause it makes all the normal sounds and the fan turns on and i can hear the beepings... of it

I have a "Dell OptiPlex GX1 : Intel Pentium III 450MHz" running on Windows 98. And I have no need for it. Is there anything that I can do with it? Can I 'add' parts to my newer computer, make it like a home entertainment system, record tv shows, optimize my newer computer, use the chip in combination to my newer computer, or take the memory for something?

I have a compaq V5115EU laptop . But can't get it to connect to my bt hub wireless connection . Iam told I can take this laptop any were and use it but I can't even get it to work at home. I have a police scanner model PRO-91 (radio shack) says it is 800 MHz, I was woundering what is the range in feet or mile of how far it should pick up? and is there any CHEAP way of using the same anttena and making it pick up signals farther away?

I'm all new to computers..I want to download a film or two but havn't got the memory, can I buy memory? do I need to buy a new disc drive? How much is it? I 've only got 400MB left on my computer & I cant erase anything else...

I stay in India, and in India, long power cuts are common. Due to this, many times, my PC crashes. Alternatively, I am not able to see important Cricket Matches due to long power cuts. Most UPS has only a backup of 30 minutes or so, which is clearly insufficient in India.
