I'd say it's one of two things. Either the monotor cable to your computer is bad or your video card is bad. If at all possible, try replacing the cord to the monitor or even borrowing somebody elses monitor. Otherwise, your video card is probibaly bad. In this case, just take it in to a professional.

Make sure that the computer is working properly first. Try and borrow another monitor from a friend and hooking it up to your computer. Restart the computer with the new monitor hooked up and see if it works. Wiggle the mouse and make sure it's not on screensaver or something silly like that. Open up the case and turn the computer on, check and see if the little fan on the heatsink above the processor is spinning. There are many things that could cause a computer to not give a video signal. Got to a local computer store, not a big chain one, but one where the guys actually know what they're talking about, and tell them what's going on. They should be able to help you some more.

do u think ur computer is OK? this sounds like a monitor issue. If you hear ur computer booting up (hard drive, beeps, etc) then that would indicate that the computer is ok.
if thats the case u need to troubleshoot why ur monitor is not working properly. it could be anything, even bad monitor, here are suggestions.
- make sure the connection (blue cable) is solidly connected. the monitor is telling u that there is NO signal comming from the back of the PC.
- Try connecting same monitor to a working PC (friend or ??) if the monitor works then its your VGA output (PCI CARD???).
- if the monitor doesnt work on PC2, then your monitor is no good.
- Montior is good, then try replacing your VGA Card, or if its built into the mother board, buy a VGA PCI card, insert it and connect ur monitor to it...
has to be VGA output or the monitor

The cheapest thing to do is to buy a new monitor cable and replace the power cord. Power cables should be easy to find anywhere. As for monitor cables, bring it with you to the store when shopping. That's the first thing to try.
If the hard drive is fully booted and you don't think it's an issue with the CPU or the monitor hardware, it could be your video driver got corrupted. See if you can boot up in safe mode... meaning, right after you press the 'on' button, press F8, until it fully boots.

All I can say is ensure that you have the "blue" video wire connected fully in both the pc and the monitor, doing the connection screws up for security.
It sounds like nothing is damaged however as the components seem to be responding as programed.
