I have a Dell Dimension E510 with a 17" Ultrasharp Digital Flat Panel monitor. Does anyone own the same? I hear a lot of snapping or crackling noises coming from the monitor while it is on and especially when I turn it off. At first I thought it was because it was cooling down, but I still hear the snapping hours later. Is this normal or do I have a problem? I still am under warranty. If I return it, I'm afraid I might get a reburbished one, which I have heard can and does happen. Thanks for any suggestions or comments!!

Personally it sound like you have either:

Metal
Phone - wireless devices
Speakers

Way to close to the monitor and they are causing magnetic interference as I had a similar problem concerning this. I have never heard of a fully working (ie picture produced) screen making noises and still working.
