Computer help?
my computer is not working... like doesnt even turn on... all of it right now is disconnected.. and im using the librarys computer to write this... so here it goes.. i plug my monitor and the computer... then nothing else is connected at this point... in the back there is a cable that is blue and connects the computer to the monitor... when it is unconnected the monitor says check cable signal.. when i connect it, it goes completely black and nothing happens after like 1 minute the monitor turns off.. either help me or redirect me to someplace that can.

i believe the computer is working cause it makes all the normal sounds and the fan turns on and i can hear the beepings... of it

it could be the monitor - the monitor cable or the video card
the check signal most likely eliminates monitor - unless of course the monitor is a CRT with an integrated cable -
Does unit give good POST? single beep?
monitor turns off as in shuts down? or signal light goes from green to orange?
you say beepings - that most likely means there is some kind of problem with the PC - the number of beeps indicate what may be wrong but I'm guessing it may be a memory issue - what happens next depends on you and how comforatble you are working inside your PC -
reseating memory and checking that the heatsink is in place on the processor would be up there but really we need more info - whenever you have an issue like this make, model and build info help (ie IBM 8183 with 2.8 proc and 512 mb ram)

This could be the problem with the ram try changing the ram slot or clean the system might be some loose contacts problems if still dosent solve try changing the video card if it is on board try replacing with external card this could be not a big problem dont worry.

Looks like you have some kind of a hardware problem. Simplest solution would be to take the unit to the nearest repair centre.

Is there only ONE beep? If there is more than one beep, then you have a problem. Post the beeps if there are any, and say if they are long or short.
