Ok, I have an HP Pavilion 6630 that my kids play on. My daughter shoved a disc behind the drawer of the drive, so the drawer of the disc drive is stuck open, the disc is inside the drive, behind the drawer, keeping the door from closing. I can see the disc, can't reach it. So, how do I go about getting the disc out of my computer?

First, figure that the disk itself is probably ruined. If you have a pair of long needle nose pliers, you may be able to grab it and pull it out. Be very careful though, you don't want to scratch the optical device in there and you don't want to break the CD.

If that doesn't work, the drive will have to be removed, the cover taken off, and the CD extracted from the internal parts.

Well, without taking the drive apart it may be difficult. And any method you use may damage the disc that's in there, if it's not already scratched up. It's probably pretty wedged in there, so you might try using a very thin plastic spatula to get in between the disk and whatever it's wedged against. You may need to combine this with some tweezers or something that you can get a hold on the disc with so you can pull it out as you pry with the spatula. If you can get something far enough in to hook on the hole in the disc while you are prying and pull it out that way, that could work too. Maybe a large paperclip straightened out with just a small hook at the end.
If you get really desperate, try taking a small object, like a Popsicle stick or something and super gluing it to the disc. It should only take a minute to dry, then you might be able to just pull it right out.

Hello. I hope this will help you. I would perhaps recommend taking a pair of tweezers and fetch it out that way. The longer the tweezers are the better I would think. That's the only thing I can think of, but good luck. Oh yes, be sure the computer is turned off alright?

Open the case. Take out the drive and open the drive case. You will void your warranty but if you don't care, go for it. Or take it to a technician.
