Slightly damp, not wet cloth. If water will wring out, it is too wet.

Cleaning Your LCD Screen
The major computer outlet stores are now starting to carry LCD cleaners for Flat Panel Monitors and Notebooks that do not contain the chemicals found in some commercial glass cleaners. These cleaners will definitely do the job nicely, but you do have to purchase them. If you do not wish to purchase these factory made cleaners, then you can clean your LCD Screen in the following manner.
What You Can Use
Water.
Water with a tiny amount of soft liquid soap.
Isopropyl Alcohol.
Hexane.
Petroleum Benzine.
Commercial glass cleaners that do not contain ammonia.
What You Should Avoid
Acetone.
Ammonia.
Ethyl acid.
Ethyl Alcohol.
Methyl chloride.
Toluene.
Commercial glass cleaners containing ammonia.
How You Should Do It
You should clean your LCD Screen display by applying the cleaner to a soft, clean cloth. Then you should wipe the cloth across the display from left to right, moving from the top of the display down to the bottom of the display. If your display contains grease or some other contaminant, then you should dampen your cloth with water instead of a commercial cleaner as the cleaner may smear the contaminants across the screen.

If you are talking your lcd screen. I have one too. Do not clean it with anything but chemical sprays made for LCDs because it will really mess them up. You can go to your walmart or some store along those lines and get a little bottle and a rag for it for like 5 dollars. But its worth it because you don't want to have to buy a whole new screen!
Good luck-

Water and a soft cloth are best.
If there is a sticky goo you have problems with, dilute a capful of rubbing alcohol in a cup of water and use this. Always wet the cloth and then apply to screen. NEVER spray or pour water directly to screen. Liquid will get behind screen through tiny cracks and will toast everything.

A Damp Cloth wil be a good solution in order to get rid of those fingerprints or smudges on your LCD...But make sure your LCD is turned of before you do it...And do get a medium sized paintbrush in order to brush off unwanted dust on your LCD from time to time...

A commercial screen cleaner is safest with a lint free cloth. You can also slightly dampen a lint free cloth and gently wipe off the screen.

GENTLY with window cleaner sprayed on a paper towel!
I'm glad we haven't cleaned our new LCD tv YET! Now I know to just use water on a slightly damp paper towel. Thanks for your question, you may have just saved ours!!!! Actually I'd rather find non-amonia type of window cleaner & not use our water....
