My company currently has cameras in our show room, just for security purposes. After much consideration, we have decided we would like to set them up to give us a live feed on our website, so a customer could view the showroom and whatever rug (s) we put in view of the camera. My problem is .. i have no idea where to even begin. I am a graphic designer and i can do the html of the page and all that .. But in terms of software we'd need, hardware we'd need, other coding ... etc... any suggestions?

My ISP - Orange - tells me that the reason my internet connection keeps dropping may be because of a faulty filter. Could this be correct? And what is the function of the filter?

I want to run an ethernet through my attic and I think I have a method I can use to do this. My only problem is... where can I buy the cable? I dont ned an extension, just an ethernet plug like you see in a wall. It needs to be pretty long.

I am looking for a website(s) that lists local ISP's by state. By local I don't mean anything like AOL, MSN, Eartlink, etc. Something regional only. For example, my ISP is through our local telephone service (again, nothing like AT&T).
Thanks ahead.

Well what would be my best choice, for sharing a high speed connection between my friends house and mine. Now like i said it's about 400-500ft between our house's but the thing is there is some pretty thick woods in between us but i can still see his house. threw the brush, trees and what not. I have looked at a ton of different canntena's and other types of yagi antenna's...etc. i dont mind spending top dollar for results but i just dont want invest in all the antenna's and stuff for it not work, well at least from what i have heard wifi doesnt work very well threw trees .
The only thing i can think of is a 500ft Ethernet cord and yes they sell them...I don't know.... let me know what you think would be the best for me. I'm willing spend upwards to $500 for a working internet connection thats faster then dial up...even 56kbps. Oh and P.S. don't you think it's stupid that i cant get the only bought out town cable company to come hook up internet for me but they can 400ft away....

When I connect a second computer wirelessly to my router I lose the connection on my desktop. I have one wired connection which is fine, one laptop ( wireless ) which is fine and a second desktop which, when the other two are connected loses its connection - although it shows he network strength as excellent. Would I be able to run an extension from the phone line to the second desktop and use a second modem to connect to the internet? And if so how? This would basically mean that I would be running two modems off one phone line.

I'm going overseas to set up my first Slingbox hopefully successfully. I plan to set up at my parents house, using my sister's wireless LAN signal. She lives next door, and has very limited space, and I don't want to bug her too much. She already gave me wireless network password, so no problem.

Questions: is it possible to set up Slinbox with wireless repeater to sling regular antenna signal???

Thanks.

Hey guys and gals, i'd just got my wireless router and did the above to hide my SSID broadcast.

But when i click on my router's status log, it shows that there still people trying to access my router for internet access.

How is this possible? I'm using a D-link DI-524 router. Please advise. Thanks. :)
