You can do this, but why would you want to.

One the distance between the two computers would have to be with 10 feet with no interference in between, ie walls) and the speed will be at a slow Bluetoth speed of 1MB/s or slower, making your surfing crawl at a snails pace, forget about downloading or gaming.

It would be alot cheaper and faster just to connect a crossover ethernet cable between the two computers and enable internet sharing in the computer you have connected to the internet.

Or purchase a wireless router and connect it to the modem if you want your laptop to be mobile in your home.

This will not give a good connection. A direct connection using a cat5 cross-over cable from machine to machine will be much faster, you need internet connection sharing on the pc for this to work. Better is to buy a router, and connect both machines to this.

Hi Matt,

First, one way to connect to the internet via your Bluetooth adapter is by connecting to a bluetooth enabled 3G appliance (e.g. 3G mobile phone), using this appliance as a dial-up modem.

Next, the way you have described; connecting to your desktop PC, you must first enable 'Share internet connection' access via your Network property page.

Here's a good guide - http://www.tweaks2k2.com/How_to/bluetooth_network.htm

Have fun tweaking!
