How much ethernet ports does your modem have?

i only have one ethernet port in my modem and im going to connect a router to my modem do i need to ethernet ports on my modem or am i okay?

If your modem did have more than ONE ethernet port it would be a router and you wouldn't need another one!

You simply connect your modems port to the WAN port on the router and you are connected.
Here is the order.
line----> Modem----> Router---> Computers
