My laptop says that I am connected to my wireless router but whenever I try to log on to the internet it says page not found.

Recently, I had to format our laptop, which was getting a new harddrive and motherboard. The wireless worked fine for a few days, but I needed to get something from the old hard drive (I took out the new one, put in the old one, got the file, and put the new one in), and it stopped working. It says the adapter is inactive, and the link light stays off. Installing the software hasn't worked. The strangest part is that the windows wireless icon says that it is connected, and that the strength is excellent, but the Wireless G program says it is not connected but you can't click the profile and click connect. And when I go to a webpage, it doesn't work. When I try clicking "repair", it says it can't because it can't connecting to the wireless network. Also, when I click the properties of the wireless connection, normally, where the IP adress and subnet mask would be, everything is blank. It won't work on other connections either. The ethernet port isn't working either.

My laptop can recieve signals but there is some sore of IP error. What is strange is my roomate is having the exact same problem. There is no router or firewalls involved. Both the wireless and the ethernet are not able to release and renew the IP succesfully. Ive tried pinging and it also works. I cant reach any address on the internet anymore. What do I do? If my roomate did not have the same problem id think it was a nic card, But its dobtful since he has a totallly different computer. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver and reinstalling IP stack. What is left?

I have entered in the password and it just couldnt aquire the network address so i manually configured the IP, DNS, Default Gateway and the subnet mask. It connected to the router but still wont allow me acess to the internet. Msn troubleshooter says that my DNS is unable to resolve my Ip address and there is something wrong with the key ports. If you can help me i would be very grateful. Thanks

I was Googling around for eDonkey for Mac, got to the webpage and got stuff like "Downloading music and videos is illegal" and "You can be sued". It also said that my IP is being logged.

Am I going to get in trouble now for going to this website? I'm totally freaked out now and I don't want to get sued.

I already have a Linux Server which acts as a router. It has 2 nics. One to the external internet, and one to my internal LAN. It is configured to do Source Natting. However I have more bandwidth requirement. I have a 4 Mbps line from reliance, but my bandwidth requires much more. So, added one more NIC and connected it to the Internet with Reliance Connection. I implemented a load balancing on the server, whereby 50% of the bandwidth is routed along the 1st NIC and 50% of it is routed along the 2nd NIC.

Now I have further requirement to expand, however I do not have Any more PCI slots left to expand the ethernet cards.

Is there a way I can expand my PCI slots to have more than 2 NICS on the exisiting Hardware ? Or I need to get a new motherboard specifically for this. If I need a new motherboard can any one tell me which one to go for

ATM, the on-board network adapter is'nt functioning, on one of my pc's. Another of mine is running fine, and has a 10/1000 network card. Is there any way, that I can connect to the internet through the other pc? The one that is connected to the net, is connected through a 4 port router. Is there any way, that I can connect to the internet on the other pc, through this pc? Like via USB cable...is there a way I can download software to enable it?

I would like to have both pc's hooked up to the net, untill I obtain an alternative card.

Thanks, all ideas much appreciated

I have a D-Link wireless router. I can't connect to my connection anymore through my laptop. I can use the connection connected to my desktop computer (through ethernet cable). I can connect to my connection wirelessly with my PSP. So the only problem is the laptop not being able to connect. I have been able to connect it to hotel networks and networks at friends houses. The laptop has been able to connect in the past, but I just can't get it to work now.

I have also reset the modem 56546445 times and all that jaz.

Any help is appreciated.
