ATM, the on-board network adapter is'nt functioning, on one of my pc's. Another of mine is running fine, and has a 10/1000 network card. Is there any way, that I can connect to the internet through the other pc? The one that is connected to the net, is connected through a 4 port router. Is there any way, that I can connect to the internet on the other pc, through this pc? Like via USB cable...is there a way I can download software to enable it?

I would like to have both pc's hooked up to the net, untill I obtain an alternative card.

Thanks, all ideas much appreciated

You will need to PC that's already accessed to the net to be a proxy for the other PCs. In your internet options on the PCs that are not connect go into tools, internet options, connections tab, LAN settings button and then enter the name of the PC that is connected to the web.

First you aren't from now on using your mind. the full theory of the internet is to cope with to connect to any of the customary public servers that are area of it. this suggests in spite of you do you want a connection to it. and not using a modem or router there is not any thanks to connect to it. once you've a modem or router it of route ought to hook up with some thing. this may regularly be a DSL telephone line or a cable television provision. those are regularly the fastest connections. you will get a instant service direct to the sources in some elements, yet because of the limitations of instant it is going to consistently be slower. You "susceptible" signal on your case has no longer some thing to do with the internet connection, it really is managed by technique of your router, its' area and the relative area of your machines. The router should be fixed as intense as available and sparkling of all obstructions. It ought to no longer be too close to to any wall or tremendous electric powered kit like refrigerators. Any wall between you and the router will heavily shrink signal capacity. So f you've susceptible signal, first verify the placement of the router. Then try putting a diverse channel on it. someone interior reach would properly be using a similar channel as you and this may in part cancel your signal. try shifting the gadget closer the router, or the router closer the gadget. If that does no longer artwork you are able to choose a sparkling router. and bear in mind it really is not any strong having ideas once you've completely no comprehend-how of the device they relate to.

READ THE QUESTION!

The answer is No. If you rule out buying a new card (including an external USB NIC), then the answer is no, you cannot connect the second one to the net.

Whoa you quite loaded to have ATM broke and not yourself broken up about it.

Try null-modem cable/direct serial cable but shouldn't it be more sensible to just run out and get a card for replacement?
