Hi, I have this question I am trying to solve, Any Comments!!!! This question is about peer to peer networks. Suppose that I am trying to collect a movie which consists of n blocks And is scattered among some peers where each peer contains 1 block of movie. The total number of peers is much more than n. We contact the peers one at a time. We check with them if they have a block we require. If they do we take the block from them and store it but it is possible that the peer has the block which we already have with us. In this case we move to the next peer. We move from 1 peer to the next until we collect the whole movie. If the probability of a peer storing a given block of the movie is 1/n. Determine the expected number of peers that you need to contact that allows you to collect all the blocks in the movie? Thanks Any Hints would be helpful :)

I want to be able to use my nintendo DS and possibly in the future a nintendo Wii console in my room with wifi. I have a wireless network and range booster but it cuts short RIGHT AT the location I need. So I know I should get a wifi usb adapter for my laptop but I was wondering if I can just get any namebrand wifi usb adapater. Will it work the same or do I HAVE TO get a Nintendo DS Wifi Usb Adapter? Im so clueless :(

I can't enable encryption over a wireless network and windows says that the connection is not secure. If I enable encryption I can't access the internet. What could be the problem here?

I promised to set up an Internet connection for my friend. What he has are a modem and a TV cable. So would that be Okay if I just plug the TV cable in the modem and then connect the modem with the PC? I think that a telephone wire would do the same work (maybe slower), am I right?

Thank you so much and have a great day!

I know my neighbors use my wireless connection. I really don't mind. It doesn't affect me at all, plus they are grateful for it. HOWEVER, Can i see what they are doing? I don't want to sound weird, but eh ill be honest, I'm curious...so can I see their websites? What about what they are writing or pictures and music they are getting. Is there a program I can get?
Thanks~

We have a wireless connection at our house and I would like to be able to send it to another location without having a direct cable connection...that would require going through walls which I don't currently have time for. Just wondering if this is a possibility.

I have a laptop for over a year which I used as my main computer. It is connected to the internet via a wireless router and then obviously a modem. My internet connection works fine. This weekend I bought a desktop which I connected to the same router and that is how I connect to the internet with no problems. What I want to do is network them together to share files and a printer. I am pretty good navigating my way through XP but I can only seem to find places that allow me to set up a network that is both either wireless or wired but not both on the same network.

What settings do I need to change in order to have my laptop networked to my desktop. I just need the basics I can figure out the details.

The second part.
My desktop has vista on it. I feel like I am in room that no one is speaking my language when I am trying do anything that is not basic. So what do I need to do in order to get the desktop set-up up to network with my laptop.
