I have dsl and my dsl line is connected to my wireless netgear router.
Everybody can use the internet using Wireless.
Here is the problem,
I have another computer that doesn't have wireless card, and I also have ip phone that doesn't work wireless so I do need to use LAN.
I don't want to run cable from one desk to another instead I want to get a hub close to the phone have that hub connect to the internet wirelessly and then I will connect the cable into that hub and connect it to my phone and pc that sits close to it.

Any idea which hub can do this ? Or how I can do this ?

....to simply recieve the signal from my main wireless router and distribute it to various devices. I'm just curious becuase I was about to buy a wireless desktop card for a computer I'm setting up in the lower level of my home; my main system, modem, and router are upstairs. I thought It might give me greater access with laptops or future components if I set up another router to get the signal from the main router.. if that is all possible? Thanks for your help!

Since I set up my wireless connection on my PC I cannot access my work emails remotely on my PC or on my laptop.

There was never a problem before I installed the wireless connection.

I use outlook express.

Any advice?

i have a laptop and it is running windows vista.

it will connect to a unsecured wireless network but it will not connect to a secured network! i know the password for the secured network but it won't even let me enter the name...

i know the ssid name but when i type it in it does not save it.
so i went to the command prompt and typed the following:

C:\ netsh wlan add filter permission=allow ssid=the ssid name networktype= infrastructure

when i press enter the following error appears:
ERROR: function WlansetFilterList returns 5. The requested operation requires elevation.

At my household we have two laptops and no desktop computer. Currently we can only hook up one laptop to the internet at a time because we have not purchased a router. Is it possible to have both laptops wireless with a router and just plug the router into the modem or something?

I have wireless internet at my house. My laptop is normally about 3ft. from the modem. My connection speed is normally 54Mbps but it quite frequently drops to 24Mbps which makes it almost impossible to use my remote desktop connection to a server in Pa. If I go to the little computer symbol in the lower right corner of my screen, right click and repair the wireless connection, it always comes back to 54Mbps. But that gets frustrating to do that constantly. What should I do?

Ok, here we go...

I have (2) wireless routers, (1) DSL modem, (1) Buffalo Linkstation, and (4) wireless capable computers, and one that is wired directly from the router.

My computers are all at other ends of the house, so if i can, i would prefer NOT to run ethernet cables to each

My computer is a mac, the rest are windows, I don't know if that has any thing that will make it more complicated

Now the Buffalo Linkstation has two usb ports for sharing a printer (what i want) and one for using an external hard drive, which i won't need giving this linkstation has a capacity of 300gb, and it also has one ethernet port

Both the routers have wired connections available, but again, i would rather not wrap my house in wires.

Any Help would be MOST appreciated
