I just recently moved into a new house and today we set up a cable modem. We set it up at one end of the house. After the technician left, I decided to use my Linksys router (which is in the same room) to connect a laptop (which does have a wireless card) to the internet that is in the other end of the house. However, the connection is very low and barely even connects. Is there something wrong with the router or the house? Another quick question is does marble tile affect the wireless connection in a house? Thanks.

I have a westell 7400 router and ports 3 & 4 are not coming on when I plug in my ethernet cable. Can they be turned off and if so, how do you turn them on? Or is my router screwed up (it's a refurbished router from dsl-warehouse). I also powered the router on & off and still just ports 1 & 2 are working.

the wireless network for our house provides internet access for a number of different laptops in it. i know that by using one pc, other pc's can have their internet disabled competely, or certain websites having firewalls put in place at certain times. But is it possible for other people to see the webpages that I view on my pc somehow because we share the same wireless network connection? please let me know if this makes no sense....
thanks

I have a LinkSys wireless router in my living room. I am trying to bridge a WRK54G (upstairs) to the other so I can have more systems upstairs connecting to the broadband. What are the settings for the WRK54G to enable this? Thanks.

There is one spot of my house that accesses an unencrypted wifi provider, and it is directly in front of the TV...I wanted to know if I could use a repeater to spread the signal to the rest of my house... if so, how do I do it?

If a WiFi connection is coming from somewhere and seems to be pretty good, is it best to just use that? Or, should you opt to connect to a network via wireless router to a secure cable network? What is the best connection for a WiFi enabled laptop?
