At my household we have two laptops and no desktop computer. Currently we can only hook up one laptop to the internet at a time because we have not purchased a router. Is it possible to have both laptops wireless with a router and just plug the router into the modem or something?

Yes, buy a wireless router. the router will be wired into the cable/dsl modem. The laptops will be wireless.

You don't need no stinking desktop.

YES. All you need is a wireless router which you will hook up to the modem. You may need to use one of the laptops to set up the router (connect to it with a network cable, instructions come with the router) but after that you don't have to do anything special.

Yes. Hook up the router to the modem as directed by the manufacturer, wire into the router and make any necessary changed to it's configuration (some wireless routers don't come with the Wireless capability "enabled", for example). Make sure your laptops of configured with any necessary security (such as keys you've set) and you'll be good to go wireless on both laptops. :-)

Best of luck!

You can purchase a wireless router that will connect to the internet and allow multiple wireless connections. They even make some that have built in firewalls to keep people from using your wireless (if you live in an apartment for example).
