Its a tough question. But from my experience i can say that a Wireless router should work fine with a PC or MAC no matter what it is.

So i am thinking some setting on your MAC are disconnecting the link between the MAC's Wireless Network Card and the Wireless Router.

Or some application in your MAC is disconnecting the internet after a period of inactivity or after some predefined time period.

I havent worked on MAC much, but see if there are any power saving options set for the Network card to shut down itself after a perio dof inactivity.

Try upgrading the firmware of the Wireless Router to the latest one.

If you need further clarifications please get back to me.
